Six Sides but not a Hexagon

Symmetrical on the outside, asymmetrical on the inside. I'm sure there is some profound meaning in that observation. If I try hard enough I'm sure I can work in "duality" or "dichotomy". Demand the best-don't ask for mere philosophy demand photonic fractal philosophy.
